In early 2000s, Walter's late father-in-law was building tugboats, ships and barges in O gauge size. The flat bottom tugboats were built to replicate both diesel and steam powered New York harbor tugboats used by area railroads. Tugboats and a few freighters were also built and are now on display at the NJ HiRailer's fantastic Train Layout in Paterson, NJ.
Recently found in a section of Mickey's basement, they are now offered as a limited one-of-a-kind tugboat for your collection and train layout.
Made of wood with metal railing with paper and plastic detail parts...all from regular items...that were adapted by this talented builder. Mickey's freight cars had appeared in a transportation display at NJ's Trenton Science Museum.
In years past, his creations were also shown at the Train Collector's Association train show in York, PA.
Tugboats are available in 2 different lengths...approx. 8 inches and approx. 14 inches in length. See actual listings for tugboats with photos showing size reference.
Mickey Fedorochko passed away in 2008...he is missed by us all.
